Utilizing the Coupang Rocket Fresh service.
One of the hardest aspects of living alone is dealing with illness. It’s especially tough when I'm in so much pain that I can barely move. I need to buy groceries and cook, but stepping out to the market isn’t an option.
In South Korea, there’s a unique service called “early morning delivery.” This allows customers to place orders late at night and have their items delivered right to their door in the early morning, often before they even wake up. This way, I can prepare meals with fresh ingredients, even when I’m under the weather.
Unfortunately, not every area has access to Rocket Fresh, which is disappointing for those in mountainous regions. If you sign up for Coupang WOW membership, shipping is free. Your orders arrive in a suitcase-style container, all at once, early in the morning.
The suitcase is reusable, and they come to collect it around 8 AM daily. Fortunately, theft isn’t a big concern in Korea, so you can safely leave it outside for pickup without any worries. You also have the option to choose between the suitcase or a disposable paper box for your deliveries.
Before I started using the Coupang Rocket Fresh service, I used to go to the supermarket to buy my groceries. Carrying heavy bags home was quite a struggle. Many people may not be familiar with this service, but using Rocket Fresh has truly made my life so much easier!
Due to the early morning deliveries of the Coupang Rocket Fresh service, there have been incidents of workers dying from overwork during their shifts. While this service is convenient for some, it can be a demanding job for others. I hope there won't be any more tragic news in the future.
